چکیده
In this study, the unique reverse-flow around inlet nozzle of a squirrel-cage fan was numerically studied by computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and non-axisymmetric D-type proposed to inhibit it. It is shown that serious back flow develops at volute tongue when operates low coefficient lower than best efficiency point. The airflow passing blade passages in reverse further crosses impeller, mixing clearance leakage airflow, finally blows into intake chamber near circumferential position 150?. By installing along direction, schemes with different blockage extent were calculated CFD. scheme cut distance 70% its exit-section radius chosen as design comprehensively comparing ratio performance working conditions. CFD results illustrated blowing entrance significantly constrained nozzle, vortex correspondingly disappeared. Experimental data new increased pressure rise under low-flow conditions about 6% barely reduced other points.

Experimental Investigations of Supersonic Flow around a Long Axisymmetric Body
A series of supersonic wind tunnel tests on an ogive-cylinder body were performed to investigate the pressure distribution, the boundary layer profiles, and the flow visualization at various angles of attack. All tests were conducted in the trisonic wind tunnel of the Imam Hossein University. The theoretical shock angle at different model positions compared well with those we obtained via Schi...

متن کاملnumerical and experimental investigations on strip deformation in cage roll forming process for pipes with small thickness/diameter ratio
cage roll forming is one of the new methods of cold roll forming process which is widely used for producing erw pipes. in addition to less production cost and time, using cage roll forming provides smooth deformation on the strip. few studies can be found about cage roll forming because of its complexity, and the available knowledge is more experience-based and not science-based. in this paper,...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Investigations for Design of a High Performance Micro-hydro-kinetic Turbine
Design and manufacturing of a high performance micro-hydro-kinetic turbine is discussed in the present paper. The main goal is manufacturing an equipped experimental model of hydro-kinetic turbine with highest energy absorption from water current. A multi-shape ducted turbine comprised of a multi-part diffuser was manufactured that can be converted to many experimental models for studying vario...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Investigations on the Effect of Rectangular Openings’ Aspect Ratio on Outflow Discharge
Up to now, a few formulas have been suggested by scholars for the amount of discharge from openings, however, the effect of opening's geometry on the amount of discharge has not addressed thoroughly. In this study, to assess the effect of rectangular openings’ aspect ratio on the discharge amount, experimental and numerical investigations have been conducted on the discharge amount from rectang...
